Dr. Brian Goldman talks openly about his mistakes as a physician. He calls for a ‘redefined’ physician who admits to, learns from her mistakes, shares lessons from mistakes and works in a culture of medicine that acknowledges that humans make mistakes. He talks about the need for the system to create backups to help prevent mistakes. Mistakes offer a tremendous opportunity to learn and improve. We need to foster a supportive environment to make this OK. Enjoy this 20 minute excellent TED talk.
