Toronto, Canada – June 3, 2015 – Excellerate announced today that EngageRx: The 3 Keys to Patient-focused Growth (www.engagerx.org), won the LTEN Excellence Award for Learning Content at the 44th LTEN Annual Conference (www.LTENconference.com), the largest gathering of life science trainers and educators in the US. The LTEN Excellence Awards is the premier awards program in the United States recognizing innovation and leadership within the life sciences training and development community.
EngageRx was created to respond to the challenges pharma reps, MSLs, KAMs and other pharma professionals have gaining time, access and influence to grow their sales. The anchor of the EngageRx platform is a 15-week mobile program that teaches them how to grow faster by becoming trusted, valued partners to healthcare providers and gives them a system of what to say and do to change health care behavior. In the end, participants feel confident that they can make a difference and proud that what they do matters.
“Life sciences training and education professionals are critical to the success of their businesses and they deserve recognition for their astounding and impressive creation of high-quality learning content and training initiatives. We are delighted to honor such an impressive group for their efforts as they push the envelope in training and development and ultimately impact patient care,” said Dawn Brehm, LTEN executive director. “The 2015 LTEN Excellence Award judging panel had the enviable but very difficult task of selecting finalists from among so many worthy entries. Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners!”
“We are delighted that LEO Pharma nominated us for this award,” said EngageRx Chief Engagement Officer, Jill Donahue. “We believe that EngageRx can truly help change how our industry interacts with healthcare providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes. After the incredible results from our pilot in Canada where it became the most popular program offered by the Council for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education (CCPE), we knew we needed to bring it to the rest of the world. To achieve that, EngageRx was extensively redesigned to meet the needs of US and global pharma professionals,” she added.
Jim Shea, general manager of the CCPE, agrees that the time is right for pharma companies to implement EngageRx broadly. Based on his experience with thousands of participants in hundreds of continuing education programs for pharma, he said: “If everyone in pharma would take EngageRx, we could provide the value we have been striving for. It should be in everyone’s professional development plan—as the most important program they will take.”
Carol Darr from LEO Pharma, who nominated EngageRx said: “My job is to inspire our people to focus on the patient in everything they think, say and do. Only then that we will gain the trustworthiness that will allow us to engage healthcare professionals in a way that contributes to better patient outcomes. EngageRx helps us do this.”
Different from other pharma training programs, EngageRx starts by leading learners through their own motivations, helping them answer the question ‘why are you in pharma’ which, for many, underscores the need for a patient-centric focus. From there it takes on the issue of how to ethically influence behavior change in healthcare and as well as how to be the person who can best engage others authentically. Participants learn how to engage and influence ethically and effectively to create better outcomes for themselves, their company, healthcare professionals and most importantly… patients.
Kathy Foris, Director of Scientific Affairs at LEO Canada explained: “We have been trying to empower employees to internalize patient centricity and take stakeholder engagement to the next level. EngageRx’s content delivered through the Qstream’s mobile platform, is the perfect solution to patient-focused organizational change.”
